A MINI-REGGAE CONCERT with
Born in Morocco (North Africa) and raised in the Ivory Coast (West Africa), Rogé Abergel (pronounced Row-jay Aber-jel) proves the old adage that you should never judge a book by its cover. Rogé Abergel, is a unique reggae artist with a fascinating background and rich lineage. He was born of Jewish ethnicity to French-speaking parents, in Casablanca, Morocco (North Africa). At a young age, Rogé's family was transplanted to The Ivory Coast in West Africa. They settled in Marcory, a district south of Abidjan. As a teenager, Rogé Abergel initially fell in love with the soulful heart pulsing sounds of Reggae.
His latest album, Onward & Upward is an organic offering of gospel reggae with a nostalgic sound reminiscent of Bob Marley and Burning Spear with a 21st century twist. It is rustic roots reggae with a relevant message. On the album this gifted artist draws inspiration from his genuine faith, echoing the cries for spiritual liberation often associated with the genre. Backed by members of the Christafari crew, produced by Grammy Award winning producer Rick Balentine and recorded by Mark Mohr and Solomon Jabby, this is soul shaking roots and dub at its best!
Don't miss this special event with Rogé Abergel!
Everyone who's present will get Rogé Abergel's CD
